Our Verdict
For merchants who prioritize brand consistency, want a familiar, low-maintenance solution, and are comfortable with traditional gift cards, Go Gift Cards is likely the better choice. The customizable gift card experience and fraud protection offer a safe and brand-aligned approach. However, the lower number of reviews combined with a slightly lower rating may indicate that other apps need to be considered.
Ribbon | Gifting is a more innovative approach, especially for merchants selling products with varied sizes or other attributes that make gifting difficult. The upsell features and data analytics are attractive for businesses focused on increasing AOV and understanding gifting trends. If the merchant is willing to invest more time into set-up and actively manage the upsell opportunities, Ribbon is worth considering. The almost perfect rating indicates high customer satisfaction, however, a larger number of reviews would be better.
