Gorgias: Helpdesk, Chat & FAQ vs Shoply AI Search & AI Chatbotfor Shopify (2026)
Gorgias: Helpdesk, Chat & FAQ and Shoply AI Search & AI Chatbot both offer chat functionalities for Shopify stores, but they cater to distinct needs. Gorgias positions itself as a comprehensive helpdesk solution, encompassing chat, email, and social media support. Its strength lies in its established presence and high review count, indicating widespread usage and familiarity within the Shopify ecosystem. Conversely, Shoply AI Search & AI Chatbot focuses on leveraging AI to enhance product discovery and provide expert shopping advice through its chatbot. Its key differentiator is its AI-driven product recommendation engine that autonomously learns from a store's catalog, pages, and blogs. The primary distinction between the two lies in their core functionalities and target audience. Gorgias is well-suited for merchants requiring a holistic customer support platform to manage various communication channels. Shoply, on the other hand, targets merchants seeking to improve product discoverability and drive sales through an AI-powered shopping assistant. While both apps offer chat features, Shoply emphasizes its AI capabilities to provide personalized product recommendations and answer customer inquiries related to sizing, orders, and returns with ease. Gorgias offers a broader range of support features that go beyond just chat.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing a comprehensive helpdesk solution with robust ticketing and multi-channel support, Gorgias is the better choice. Its established reputation and high number of reviews offer a sense of reliability. However, merchants primarily focused on boosting sales through intelligent product discovery and personalized recommendations should strongly consider Shoply AI Search & AI Chatbot. Its AI-driven approach promises to enhance the customer shopping experience and drive revenue growth, especially for stores with large product catalogs.
While Shoply has a perfect rating, the low review count suggests it's a newer app. Merchants should carefully evaluate their specific needs and priorities before making a decision. For smaller stores with limited support needs, Shoply's focus on AI-powered sales might be more impactful, while larger businesses with complex support workflows may find Gorgias' comprehensive features more beneficial.
