GoWise: AI Product Description vs Sherpas: Smart SEOfor Shopify (2026)
GoWise: AI Product Description and Sherpas: Smart SEO both aim to improve a Shopify store's SEO, but they approach it from different angles. GoWise focuses primarily on leveraging AI, specifically ChatGPT, to generate product descriptions in bulk and optimize them with keywords. Its strength lies in automating the creation of compelling product content in multiple languages, making it attractive to merchants with large product catalogs or those selling in multiple regions. Sherpas, on the other hand, takes a broader approach to SEO, providing tools for meta tag generation, image optimization, page speed improvement, and link management. It positions itself as an all-in-one SEO solution suitable for merchants who want a comprehensive set of tools to manage their store's overall SEO performance. Its use of ChatGPT-4 Turbo for meta tag and alt tag generation sets it apart. GoWise is more targeted towards merchants struggling with writing product descriptions and meta tags. Sherpas, while also offering AI-powered meta tag generation, provides a wider range of SEO features, including technical SEO tools such as image optimization and broken link detection. A key difference is the social proof evidenced by a large number of reviews for Sherpas, indicating a more established user base. GoWise focuses on efficient product description generation while Sherpas is more about comprehensive SEO management.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with creating optimized product descriptions and meta tags, particularly those with extensive product lines and multi-language stores, GoWise: AI Product Description offers a targeted solution. Its bulk description generation and multilingual support are significant advantages. However, the very low number of reviews should give cause for concern.
If a merchant is seeking a comprehensive SEO solution that goes beyond product descriptions to include technical SEO aspects like image optimization, page speed improvement, and link management, Sherpas: Smart SEO is the stronger choice. The significantly larger number of positive reviews suggests a more established and reliable app. It is a better choice for merchants who want a holistic SEO solution and are willing to invest time in learning and utilizing its diverse features. However, the higher number of features may also make it harder to learn and set up.
