Hidden Gems ‑ Pre&Post Surveys vs Reveal: Customer Data & NPSfor Shopify (2026)
Hidden Gems ‑ Pre&Post Surveys and Reveal: Customer Data & NPS both fall under the 'Surveys' category on Shopify, but they cater to drastically different needs and levels of sophistication. Hidden Gems focuses on simple, non-intrusive pre- and post-checkout surveys using a 'Question Flow' approach to improve UX and gather immediate customer feedback, potentially rewarding participation with discount codes. It seems geared toward merchants who are newer to data collection and want an easy way to start gathering basic customer insights. Its strength lies in its ease of use and focus on the customer journey immediately surrounding a purchase. Reveal: Customer Data & NPS, on the other hand, is a comprehensive customer data platform centered around RFM (Recency, Frequency, Monetary) analysis, NPS (Net Promoter Score), and advanced segmentation. It aims to help merchants improve customer lifetime value (CLV) through targeted acquisition, retention, and loyalty strategies. Reveal is clearly aimed at merchants who are already familiar with customer data analysis, looking for actionable insights to improve marketing ROI and overall business strategy. It requires a more significant investment of time and resources to implement and utilize effectively. The key differentiator lies in Reveal's advanced analytics capabilities, providing a deeper understanding of customer behavior and value, while Hidden Gems focuses on simpler, immediate feedback collection.
