HiTide: Grow your SMS List vs Laylofor Shopify (2026)
HiTide: Grow your SMS List focuses on growing SMS lists through Instagram DM automation. It positions itself as a tool for brands already using established SMS marketing platforms like Attentive, BigCo, Klaviyo, Postscript, Sendlane, or Yotpo, enhancing their existing strategies by driving SMS opt-ins through social media campaigns. HiTide emphasizes campaign-based growth, offering features tailored for giveaways, early access, restocks, and product launches. In contrast, Laylo is a 'Drop CRM' targeting creators and brands focusing on drop experiences, including product releases, events, and content. Laylo provides a broader suite of tools, from drop landing pages to automated notifications across SMS, DM, and Email, aiming to manage the entire drop process and own fan data. The key difference lies in their target user and scope. HiTide is an add-on tool for established SMS marketing users looking to leverage Instagram for subscriber acquisition. Laylo, on the other hand, presents itself as a more comprehensive CRM solution centered around 'drop' strategies, offering a wider range of communication channels and data analysis capabilities. Laylo aims to be a standalone solution for managing drops and engaging fans, while HiTide is specifically designed to boost SMS list growth via targeted Instagram interactions.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants already invested in an SMS marketing platform and primarily interested in maximizing SMS list growth through Instagram DM automation, HiTide: Grow your SMS List is the clear choice. Its focus on targeted campaigns and seamless integration with leading SMS providers makes it a valuable addition to an existing marketing stack.
However, if a merchant is looking for a complete CRM solution centered around drop-based marketing, encompassing SMS, DM, and Email communication, Laylo offers a more comprehensive platform. Its feature set is geared towards managing the entire drop lifecycle and owning fan data, making it suitable for creators and brands heavily reliant on product or content drops to engage their audience. The lack of reviews for Laylo is a concern, but its broader feature set might outweigh that risk for certain users, depending on their needs.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
HiTide likely has a simpler setup process for users already familiar with platforms like Klaviyo or Attentive, as it integrates directly with them. Laylo, being a more comprehensive CRM, likely requires more configuration to set up drop landing pages and data syncing.
Which app is better for measuring ROI?
HiTide explicitly mentions measuring social ROI, suggesting it provides analytics specific to Instagram DM campaigns. Laylo focuses more on overall customer data analysis, including location and demographics, which can indirectly contribute to ROI measurement.
Which app is more suitable for small businesses with limited marketing resources?
HiTide may be a better starting point for small businesses due to its focused functionality and integration with existing SMS platforms. Laylo's broader feature set may require more time and effort to manage effectively.
Which app is more scalable for large enterprises?
Laylo, with its comprehensive CRM features and ability to handle data syncing, may be more scalable for larger enterprises with complex marketing needs. However, HiTide can still be valuable for enterprises that are heavily focused on social customer acquisition.
How do the apps compare in terms of customer support?
Based on the provided information, this cannot be reliably compared. While HiTide has positive reviews, those reviews do not specifically address customer support quality. Laylo has no reviews, rendering comparison impossible.
