HiTide: Grow your SMS List vs SMS Masivos ‑ SMS Marketingfor Shopify (2026)
HiTide: Grow your SMS List and SMS Masivos ‑ SMS Marketing both aim to enhance a Shopify merchant's SMS marketing efforts, but they approach this from distinctly different angles. HiTide focuses primarily on *growing* an SMS list through Instagram DM automation, positioning itself as a lead generation tool that integrates with established SMS platforms like Attentive and Klaviyo. SMS Masivos, on the other hand, centers on the *application* of SMS and WhatsApp marketing, specifically for recovering abandoned carts, sending order updates, and broadcasting promotional messages. HiTide's strength lies in its specialized approach to SMS list building, utilizing Instagram's large user base and DM capabilities. This positions it well for merchants heavily reliant on Instagram for marketing and customer acquisition. SMS Masivos shines in its comprehensive SMS and WhatsApp marketing functionalities, offering features such as abandoned cart recovery and automated notifications. Its direct SMS/WA sending capabilities make it a more all-in-one solution, but HiTide's integrations with major SMS platforms may give it more sophisticated marketing capabilities via those platforms. The choice depends on whether the merchant's primary goal is list growth via Instagram, or a broader set of direct SMS/WA marketing tools. The significant difference in the number of reviews (20 for HiTide vs. 1 for SMS Masivos) might indicate a longer track record or wider adoption of HiTide, although both apps maintain a perfect 5/5 rating. SMS Masivos offers both SMS and WhatsApp functionality, whereas HiTide does not. This could be a key decision point for merchants targeting customers on both platforms.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants heavily invested in Instagram marketing and already utilizing a robust SMS platform like Attentive or Klaviyo, HiTide: Grow your SMS List is the superior choice. It seamlessly integrates with existing workflows, allowing them to leverage Instagram DMs for targeted SMS list growth. Its focus on acquisition can complement existing SMS marketing strategies.
However, if a merchant seeks a more comprehensive SMS and WhatsApp marketing solution, particularly one focused on abandoned cart recovery, order updates, and promotional messaging, SMS Masivos ‑ SMS Marketing presents a stronger option. This is especially true for smaller businesses or those just starting out with SMS marketing. SMS Masivos offers a more all-in-one solution that might be easier to manage initially.
Common Questions
Does HiTide send SMS messages directly, or does it just grow my list?
HiTide primarily focuses on growing your SMS list through Instagram Direct Message automation. It integrates with platforms like Attentive, Klaviyo, Postscript, Sendlane and Yotpo to send the actual SMS messages.
Can SMS Masivos integrate with other SMS platforms like Klaviyo?
Based on the provided description, SMS Masivos functions as a standalone SMS and WhatsApp marketing platform and does not explicitly mention integrations with other SMS platforms.
Which app is better for recovering abandoned carts?
SMS Masivos directly advertises abandoned cart recovery as a key feature. HiTide focuses on SMS list growth, so it might *indirectly* contribute to abandoned cart recovery by expanding your SMS marketing reach, but it's not its primary function.
Is HiTide safe to use with my Instagram account?
HiTide claims to connect to Instagram securely using the Meta-approved API without requiring your password, suggesting a safer and more reliable connection.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
While both apps aim for user-friendliness, SMS Masivos might be simpler to set up initially due to its all-in-one nature. HiTide requires connecting to Instagram and an existing SMS platform, potentially adding complexity to the setup process.
