iDEAL by Lyra Collect vs Koin Cashback & Store Creditfor Shopify (2026)
iDEAL by Lyra Collect and Koin Cashback & Store Credit, while both listed under the 'Payments' category in the Shopify app store, address fundamentally different aspects of ecommerce. iDEAL by Lyra Collect aims to integrate the iDEAL payment method, a popular Dutch online banking system, into Shopify stores. It focuses on payment processing functionality, providing secure iDEAL transactions and payment management features like refunds and cancellations. Its key selling point is enabling merchants to accept iDEAL payments easily. However, the app currently lacks any reviews, indicating it might be new or unpopular. Koin Cashback & Store Credit, on the other hand, is a loyalty and retention tool. It empowers merchants to create cashback and reward programs using Shopify-native store credit. Its emphasis is on improving customer retention, increasing repeat purchases, and enhancing profit margins. With a perfect rating and a substantial number of reviews, Koin appears to be a well-received solution for merchants seeking to boost customer loyalty. While both apps relate to payments, iDEAL by Lyra Collect is about *receiving* payments, and Koin is about *incentivizing* payments via rewards.

Our Verdict
For merchants specifically targeting the Dutch market and needing to accept iDEAL payments, iDEAL by Lyra Collect *could* be a solution, assuming the lack of reviews isn't indicative of underlying issues. However, the absence of any reviews makes it a risky choice compared to established payment gateways with iDEAL support.
Koin Cashback & Store Credit is a better choice for merchants looking to enhance customer loyalty and drive repeat business through rewards and store credit. Its high rating and positive reviews suggest a reliable and effective solution for improving customer retention. Merchants should assess whether gaining the Dutch customer base and offering iDEAL is more important than improving customer retention.
