Our Verdict
Choosing between iDEAL by Lyra Collect and seQura On‑Site Messaging depends entirely on your specific needs. If you need to accept iDEAL payments, particularly if you operate in the Netherlands, iDEAL by Lyra Collect is the relevant app. However, the complete lack of reviews at this point is a big risk.
If you already use or plan to use seQura as a payment option and want to maximize its impact on your sales, seQura On‑Site Messaging is the appropriate choice. Given the positive reviews (albeit a small sample size), it seems to deliver on its promise of easy customization and conversion optimization. Therefore, the choice is less about competition and more about whether you need the specific functionality each app offers.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Both apps claim to be easy to set up, with no coding required. iDEAL by Lyra Collect emphasizes easy installation and configuration, while seQura On-Site Messaging highlights its visual editor. Without user reviews, it's difficult to definitively say which is easier, but both appear designed for non-technical users.
Does iDEAL by Lyra Collect help increase conversion rates?
While iDEAL by Lyra Collect focuses on enabling iDEAL payments and payment management, it doesn't directly claim to increase conversion rates. However, offering a preferred payment method can indirectly improve conversion by reducing friction for customers who want to pay with iDEAL.
Can I use both apps at the same time?
Yes, the apps are compatible. iDEAL by Lyra Collect integrates the iDEAL payment gateway, while seQura On-Site Messaging promotes seQura. A merchant could use iDEAL for Dutch customers and seQura for other customers and use seQura's messaging app to promote it.
Which app is better for a business outside of the Netherlands?
iDEAL is primarily used in the Netherlands. If your business isn't targeting Dutch customers, iDEAL by Lyra Collect would be less relevant. seQura's usefulness depends on whether you are offering seQura as a payment method.
How important are the ratings and review counts when selecting an app?
Ratings and review counts are critical for assessing an app's reliability and user satisfaction. An app with a high rating and numerous reviews suggests a positive user experience and effective functionality. iDEAL by Lyra Collect's 0/5 rating and zero reviews is a significant red flag and should be approached with caution until more user feedback is available. seQura with 5/5 from 5 reviews is a good sign, but the small sample size means it should also be approached with a degree of caution.
