Our Verdict
The choice between Infinite Color Search and Recomatic Related Products depends entirely on the specific needs of the Shopify store. Infinite Color Search is a niche product best suited for merchants whose product lines heavily rely on color as a primary selling point, like fashion retailers or home decor shops. Its strength is in providing a superior color-based search experience, potentially increasing conversions for shoppers seeking specific hues.
Recomatic Related Products is a more broadly applicable app. It is ideal for merchants looking to generally improve sales and product discovery through related product recommendations. If the goal is to increase average order value and encourage customers to explore more products, Recomatic Related Products is the better option. Given its significantly higher number of reviews, Recomatic has a stronger social proof, though both have high ratings.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Infinite Color Search claims 'no-code installation,' which suggests a simpler initial setup. Recomatic Related Products integrates with the theme editor, potentially requiring some level of customization, although it also offers automated options.
Which app is better for a clothing store?
Both could be beneficial, but they serve different purposes. Infinite Color Search excels at helping customers find specific colors of clothing. Recomatic Related Products would suggest complementary items or similar styles to increase overall purchases.
Which app is better for a store with only a few products?
Recomatic Related Products might be less effective with a very small product catalog, as there would be fewer opportunities for relevant recommendations. Infinite Color Search's value would depend on whether those few products have a high degree of color differentiation.
Do both apps provide analytics?
Yes, both apps highlight reporting and conversion data as key features. Infinite Color Search tracks search queries and sale conversions, while Recomatic Related Products offers detailed conversion tracking related to its recommendations.
If I already have a search bar, do I need Infinite Color Search?
Possibly. If your search bar only supports text-based color searches, Infinite Color Search offers a visual and potentially more intuitive way for customers to find specific colors. The patented color wheel UI could lead to better conversions, depending on your customer base.
