Instant Search ﹣ InSearch vs RT: Smooth Scroll To Topfor Shopify (2026)
Instant Search ﹣ InSearch and RT: Smooth Scroll To Top both aim to improve the user experience on Shopify stores, but they address fundamentally different aspects of navigation. Instant Search ﹣ InSearch focuses on enhancing the product search functionality by providing instant search results and highlighting popular search terms. This aims to help customers quickly find what they're looking for, potentially increasing conversions. Its primary strength, according to its description, lies in its ability to search through all product details. However, it lacks any reviews, which is a significant drawback. RT: Smooth Scroll To Top, on the other hand, provides a simple 'scroll to top' button and optional progress bar. This benefits stores with long product pages or extensive content, allowing users to easily navigate back to the top. It boasts a perfect 5-star rating and 30 reviews, suggesting a positive user experience. The crucial difference lies in their core functionality. Instant Search ﹣ InSearch tries to improve product discovery, while RT: Smooth Scroll To Top focuses on easing navigation within a page. RT: Smooth Scroll To Top likely targets merchants whose themes lack a native 'scroll to top' function or want more customization. Given the absence of social proof for Instant Search ﹣ InSearch, merchants should exercise extreme caution and potentially look for alternatives with established positive feedback.

Our Verdict
Based on the available data, RT: Smooth Scroll To Top appears to be the safer and more reliable choice for merchants who need a scroll-to-top functionality. Its perfect rating and positive reviews suggest a well-functioning and user-friendly app. Instant Search ﹣ InSearch, while potentially beneficial for stores struggling with product discoverability, carries significant risk due to the lack of reviews and a 0/5 rating. Merchants should proceed with extreme caution and consider established alternatives.
For merchants with themes already offering solid search functionality and short pages, neither app may be necessary. However, if you need a scroll-to-top feature and your theme lacks it, RT: Smooth Scroll To Top is the clear winner. If you desperately need better search and are willing to beta test a new, unproven app, then, and only then, should you consider Instant Search - InSearch, and then with thorough testing.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to install and use?
RT: Smooth Scroll To Top likely offers a simpler installation ('one-click') and intuitive customization. Instant Search ﹣ InSearch, while potentially easy to install, relies on data collection to improve search relevance over time, which might take time to become effective.
Which app offers better value for money?
Without pricing information for either app, it's impossible to definitively say. However, given the 5-star rating and established functionality of RT: Smooth Scroll To Top, it likely provides immediate and demonstrable value. The value of Instant Search ﹣ InSearch is entirely speculative at this point.
Which app is better for stores with large product catalogs?
Instant Search ﹣ InSearch theoretically could be beneficial for stores with large catalogs if it delivers on its promise of improved search functionality. However, its lack of reviews makes this uncertain. RT: Smooth Scroll To Top is beneficial if these products appear on long pages that customers need to navigate quickly.
Does Instant Search ﹣ InSearch guarantee an increase in sales?
No. While the app description claims it can increase conversions, this is not guaranteed and there is no evidence to support the claim. The lack of reviews makes it difficult to assess its effectiveness.
Which app addresses accessibility concerns?
Both apps potentially address accessibility concerns. A scroll-to-top button can improve navigation for users with motor impairments, while improved search functionality can make it easier for users with cognitive impairments to find what they need. RT: Smooth Scroll To Top's customization options could be used to create a button that meets accessibility guidelines.
