iSubfy Product Subscriptions vs Pay Later, Split Pay ‑ Cypherfor Shopify (2026)
iSubfy Product Subscriptions and Pay Later, Split Pay - Cypher are both Shopify apps in the 'Payment options - Other' category, but they address fundamentally different needs. iSubfy focuses on enabling recurring revenue through product subscriptions, targeting merchants who want to offer weekly, monthly, or annual subscriptions for their products or services. It emphasizes residual income and predictable revenue streams through features like subscription discounts and order limits. In contrast, Pay Later, Split Pay - Cypher is geared towards increasing sales and order value by offering flexible payment options such as partial payments, split payments, and 'pay later' options, catering to merchants selling higher-value or made-to-order products, particularly those with pre-order systems. Pay Later, Split Pay - Cypher aims to improve customer acquisition and loyalty by reducing barriers to purchase through flexible payment plans. Its key selling point is the ability to offer deferred payments, deposits, and even NET30 terms, along with automated payment reminders and card-on-file billing. A significant differentiator is its focus on improving cash on delivery (COD) order management. iSubfy lacks any reviews, making its reliability uncertain, whereas Pay Later, Split Pay - Cypher has a perfect rating with some user feedback, which inspires more confidence.

Our Verdict
Pay Later, Split Pay - Cypher is generally the more compelling choice for most merchants, given its perfect rating and focus on improving sales conversion through flexible payment options. It is particularly well-suited for businesses selling expensive items, made-to-order goods, or pre-orders. The ability to offer split payments, deposits, and 'pay later' options can significantly reduce purchase hesitation and boost average order value. iSubfy may be considered for merchants exclusively focused on establishing recurring revenue streams through subscriptions. However, the absence of reviews raises concerns about its reliability and usability, making it a riskier choice unless the merchant has a strong need for subscription functionality and is willing to be an early adopter.
If a merchant prioritizes predictable recurring revenue over all else and is willing to take a chance on an unproven app, iSubfy might be worth exploring after a thorough review of its documentation and contacting the developer with questions. However, for most merchants aiming to increase sales and AOV, Pay Later, Split Pay - Cypher is the safer and more immediately impactful option.
