Katana Cloud Inventory vs Stockyfor Shopify (2026)
Katana Cloud Inventory and Stocky are both Shopify apps aimed at helping merchants manage their inventory, but they differ significantly in focus and execution. Katana, with a rating of 4.5/5 from 137 reviews, positions itself as a more comprehensive cloud-based inventory management solution. Stocky, in contrast, boasts a lower rating of 2.8/5 from 200 reviews and is primarily targeted at Shopify POS Pro users looking to optimize inventory within their brick-and-mortar retail operations. Stocky's tight integration with Shopify POS workflows is a key differentiator, enabling in-store staff with features like barcode scanning and receiving inventory directly within the POS system. While both apps offer features for purchase order management and stocktaking, their strengths lie in different areas. Katana likely offers more robust manufacturing inventory management features that are not mentioned for Stocky. Stocky emphasizes in-store processes and inventory reporting tailored for physical retail. The large discrepancy in user ratings suggests a significant difference in user satisfaction, ease of use, or feature set. Choosing between the two depends heavily on whether the merchant is primarily an online store, a physical retail store using Shopify POS Pro, or a business that requires a more fully-featured inventory solution encompassing manufacturing processes.

Our Verdict
If your business relies heavily on Shopify POS Pro and operates a physical retail store, Stocky's direct integration with POS workflows and barcode scanning capabilities makes it a potentially suitable choice, assuming its functionality meets your needs despite the lower ratings. However, it's crucial to investigate the reasons behind the lower rating before committing. If you need a more general or comprehensive inventory management solution, especially if you have manufacturing needs, Katana Cloud Inventory's higher rating suggests a more robust and user-friendly experience. Because Stocky is built by Shopify it may offer additional advantages in terms of system integration and data security; however, it is important to weigh this benefit against the reported user experience.

Based on the available information, it's difficult to definitively say which app is better for multiple warehouses. Katana's more comprehensive nature might make it a better fit, but further research into their specific multi-warehouse capabilities is needed.
Which app provides better customer support?
The provided data does not offer information on the quality of customer support for either app. User reviews often mention customer support, so researching reviews for both apps would be helpful.
What are the pricing structures of Katana Cloud Inventory and Stocky?
The provided data does not include pricing information. Pricing is a critical factor in the decision-making process and should be researched separately on the Shopify App Store or the apps' respective websites.
Which app is better for a small business with limited inventory?
