KOBU ‑ Menu Highlight vs Mercury ‑ Personalise & Upsellfor Shopify (2026)
KOBU ‑ Menu Highlight and Mercury ‑ Personalise & Upsell both aim to improve the customer experience on Shopify stores, but they address fundamentally different areas. KOBU focuses squarely on visual navigation, aiming to enhance product discoverability and reduce bounce rates through engaging, Instagram-story-like menus for products, collections, and links. It seems ideally suited for visually driven brands wanting to simplify navigation and highlight specific items or collections. Mercury, on the other hand, centers around personalization and upselling, although the details are limited in the description. Mercury’s target audience is likely merchants aiming to boost average order value through tailored product recommendations and a more personalized shopping experience. The key difference lies in their approach. KOBU provides a highly visual, menu-based navigation system, prioritizing ease of use and a modern, social media-inspired interface. Mercury focuses on personalizing the shopping experience. The limited information on Mercury makes a direct comparison difficult, however. The significant difference in review count (23 for KOBU vs. 3 for Mercury) suggests that KOBU has either been on the market longer or enjoys higher adoption rates. Without more details on Mercury's functionality, it is difficult to assess its relative strengths.

Our Verdict
If a merchant prioritizes visually appealing and intuitive navigation, especially on mobile, KOBU ‑ Menu Highlight is the more suitable choice. Its focus on creating engaging menus for products and collections directly addresses the need for improved product discovery and reduced bounce rates. The support for multiple languages is also a plus for international stores.
However, merchants primarily concerned with increasing average order value and personalizing the shopping experience might consider Mercury ‑ Personalise & Upsell. However, the lack of detailed information about Mercury makes it difficult to fully assess its potential. If upselling and personalization are key, further research into Mercury's specific features is essential before making a decision.
