Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a visually appealing and curated navigation experience, KOBU ‑ Menu Highlight appears to be the stronger choice, supported by positive reviews and a clear focus on visual hierarchy. Its feature set directly addresses the need for improved visibility of key products or collections, particularly on mobile devices. Merchants comfortable with design customization will likely find KOBU more appealing.
Sauja AI Chat & Product Search is more suitable for merchants interested in providing a modern, AI-driven shopping experience. However, the lack of reviews presents a risk. Merchants willing to experiment and potentially provide feedback in exchange for the free launch promo may find Sauja a worthwhile investment, provided they are prepared to train and customize the AI for optimal performance.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to implement?
Without hands-on experience, it's difficult to definitively say. KOBU's description suggests a focus on design customization, implying a need for design skills. Sauja, on the other hand, likely requires training the AI and customizing its responses, which could also be complex.
Which app is better for mobile users?
KOBU explicitly states it supports mobile menu navigation bars, suggesting it is designed with mobile users in mind. Sauja's 'large product display' is also likely optimized for mobile, but this is not explicitly stated.
Which app is better for a store with a large product catalog?
Sauja AI Chat & Product Search likely offers a more efficient solution for navigating a large product catalog, as AI can quickly filter and suggest relevant products based on user queries. KOBU's effectiveness may diminish as the product catalog grows, requiring extensive menu customization.
Which app is more likely to improve sales?
Both apps aim to improve sales, but through different mechanisms. KOBU aims to increase conversion rates by reducing bounce rates and highlighting key products, while Sauja aims to improve sales by simplifying product discovery and making it easier for shoppers to find what they want. The 'best' app depends on the specific challenges faced by the store.
Does KOBU's menu highlighting overlap with Shopify's native search functionality?
Yes, to some extent. Shopify's native search allows users to find products by keyword, while KOBU enhances this by visually guiding users to specific collections or items through highlighted menus. KOBU is more proactive in directing users, while Shopify search is reactive.
