Our Verdict
Choosing between Koin and PartialPay depends heavily on your specific business needs. If your primary goal is to boost customer loyalty and retention through rewards, Koin Cashback & Store Credit is the clear choice, especially if you are a D2C or Shopify Plus B2B business. The app's established rating and existing user base provide confidence. However, if your business model relies on pre-orders, deposits, or offering flexible payment plans to increase conversions, PartialPay Deposit & Split COD is more suitable. While it currently lacks reviews, its compatibility with all Shopify gateways and shipping providers is a significant advantage. In the absence of user reviews for PartialPay, a cautious approach with thorough testing after installation is recommended.
Common Questions
Can I use both Koin Cashback & Store Credit and PartialPay Deposit & Split COD simultaneously?
Yes, theoretically. Koin focuses on rewarding customers *after* a purchase or action, while PartialPay manages *how* customers pay. They address different stages of the customer journey. However, careful planning is needed to ensure a cohesive and non-confusing customer experience.
Does Koin Cashback & Store Credit support international currencies?
The description doesn't explicitly mention international currency support. It's tied to Shopify's native store credit functionality, so its currency support likely aligns with Shopify's capabilities. Further investigation or direct contact with the app developer is recommended to confirm.
Is PartialPay Deposit & Split COD suitable for subscription-based businesses?
While the description doesn't specifically mention subscriptions, the 'flexible partial payment rules' feature *could* potentially be adapted to subscription models with initial deposits. However, its primary focus seems to be on one-time purchases. Subscription management requires specific tools often built into subscription apps.
How does Koin Cashback & Store Credit handle returns and refunds in relation to store credit?
The description does not explicitly address returns and refunds. Merchants would need to define policies regarding store credit usage in the event of a return, and this would likely require manual adjustments within the app to debit store credit balances accordingly.
Are there any transaction fees associated with using PartialPay Deposit & Split COD, beyond Shopify's payment gateway fees?
The description indicates compatibility with all Shopify gateways, suggesting that fees would be limited to those charged by Shopify and the chosen payment gateway. However, it's advisable to verify this directly with the PartialPay developer to confirm there are no hidden transaction fees associated with the app itself.
