Our Verdict
Koin Cashback & Store Credit is the better choice for merchants looking to increase customer loyalty and retention through a rewards system integrated directly within Shopify. Its store credit functionality and automation options provide a flexible and manageable solution for rewarding various customer actions. It's particularly well-suited for D2C and B2B businesses on Shopify Plus. Skeps Pay‑Over‑Time Messaging, conversely, is beneficial for merchants who aim to increase sales conversion by offering customers flexible payment options. However, the lack of reviews and the need for a separate app makes it a riskier option, though its potential for increased line sizes and SKU-level promotions could be enticing to certain merchants.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Based on the description, Koin seems easier to set up and use, leveraging Shopify-native store credit and Flow integrations. Skeps requires installing a separate app and setting up financing offers, potentially adding complexity.
Which app is better for customer retention?
Koin is specifically designed for customer retention by offering cashback and rewards programs powered by store credit. Skeps focuses more on attracting new customers and increasing sales through installment payments.
Can I use both apps together?
Potentially, yes. A merchant could use Skeps to attract customers with payment plans and then use Koin to reward those customers with store credit for future purchases. However, this would require careful planning to avoid confusing customers.
Which app has better customer support?
It's difficult to assess customer support quality without further information. However, Koin's higher rating and number of reviews suggest a more established user base and potentially better support based on past merchant experience. The lack of reviews for Skeps makes its support quality an unknown.
Which app is more expensive?
Pricing information is not provided for either app. The merchant will need to investigate the app listing to understand each app's associated cost.
