Our Verdict
The choice between Kumo ‑ B2B Wholesale Tools and Nivoda Connect depends entirely on the merchant's business. Kumo is the better choice for merchants selling any type of product who wish to create a dedicated B2B sales channel with custom pricing and customer management. Its generalized feature set provides flexibility for various wholesale setups.
Nivoda Connect is specifically for jewelers and merchants looking to sell diamonds, gemstones, and rings. If a jewelry retailer wants to expand their inventory without physically managing it or offer a ring customization experience, Nivoda Connect is the clear winner. It offers access to a global marketplace and a tailored user experience for jewelry customers. Trying to use Kumo for this scenario would be ineffective, and vice versa.
Common Questions
Can I use Kumo ‑ B2B Wholesale Tools to sell diamonds at wholesale prices?
Yes, if you already sell diamonds in your store, Kumo allows you to create custom pricing tiers for specific B2B customer groups.
Does Nivoda Connect offer B2B wholesale pricing?
While Nivoda Connect focuses on providing access to inventory and a ring builder, its 'dynamic pricing markup options' could be used to create different pricing tiers for different customer segments, potentially including wholesale.
Is any coding knowledge required to use either app?
Kumo states 'no theme code edit required' for price updates, suggesting a relatively easy setup. Nivoda Connect's description doesn't explicitly mention coding requirements, but its ease of integration is implied by 'seamlessly integrate' and 'customize your filters'.
Which app is easier to use for someone new to Shopify?
Both apps have high ratings, suggesting good usability. However, Kumo's focus on a standard Shopify setup with extended B2B functionality *might* be slightly easier to grasp for a beginner than Nivoda's integration of an external inventory system.
Do both apps support customer registration forms?
Yes, Kumo supports 'form templates to register B2B customers'. Nivoda Connect doesn't explicitly mention a separate registration form, implying that customers register through the standard Shopify process.
