Latch ‑ Restricted Products vs NoSpy Security & Protectionfor Shopify (2026)
Latch - Restricted Products and NoSpy Security & Protection are both Shopify apps categorized under 'Security - Other,' but they serve vastly different purposes. Latch focuses on restricting specific products, likely based on certain criteria that are not elaborated upon in the provided data, suggesting a more niche application. NoSpy, on the other hand, is a comprehensive security suite aimed at protecting the entire store from bots, content theft, and unauthorized access through features like country blocking, right-click disabling, and inspect element blocking. The key differentiator lies in their scope. Latch appears to offer control over product accessibility, potentially useful for age-restricted items or location-based restrictions. NoSpy's broad feature set positions it as an all-in-one security solution for merchants concerned about scraping, bot traffic, and intellectual property protection. While both apps boast perfect ratings, NoSpy's significantly higher number of reviews (32 vs. 2) indicates greater user adoption and potentially a longer track record.

Our Verdict
NoSpy Security & Protection is the superior choice for merchants prioritizing comprehensive security, bot protection, and content theft prevention. Its extensive feature set, despite potentially requiring more configuration, offers a robust defense against various threats. However, Latch ‑ Restricted Products might be ideal for merchants with a very specific need to restrict access to certain products based on criteria not fully detailed in the provided data.
Ultimately, the decision hinges on the merchant's primary concerns. If the focus is solely on restricting product access based on unknown parameters, Latch could be sufficient. If, however, the merchant seeks a broader security solution addressing bot traffic, content protection, and fraud prevention, NoSpy Security & Protection is the recommended app.
