Launchpad vs Order Automatorfor Shopify (2026)
Launchpad and Order Automator are both Shopify apps that fall under the 'Operations' and 'Workflow Automation' categories, but they target very different needs. Launchpad focuses specifically on automating and scheduling sales campaigns, product releases, and flash sales. Its strength lies in orchestrating the various elements needed for a successful event, such as product visibility, themes, discounts, and even line-item scripts for promotions. However, Launchpad is exclusively available to Shopify Plus customers, limiting its accessibility. Order Automator, on the other hand, offers a broader suite of automation features centered around order management. Order Automator aims to streamline store management by automating tasks like order fulfillment, tagging, email notifications, and fraud monitoring. It also boasts integrations with Amazon FBA for inventory synchronization and order fulfillment. While Launchpad is geared towards large-scale campaign management, Order Automator is designed to improve the daily operational efficiency of a wider range of Shopify stores. The significant difference in user ratings suggests that merchants find Order Automator to be more reliable and user-friendly than Launchpad, which may be due to its narrower, more focused functionality and limitations in accessibility to only Shopify Plus customers.

Our Verdict
Order Automator is the better choice for most Shopify merchants looking to improve their operational efficiency. Its high rating, positive reviews, and broader range of features applicable to all Shopify plans make it a more versatile and reliable solution. Businesses struggling with order fulfillment, tagging, and communication will likely find immediate value in Order Automator's automation capabilities.
Launchpad, on the other hand, is only suitable for Shopify Plus customers who require robust campaign automation features, including theme switching and Shopify Script integration. While Launchpad aims to simplify sales event execution, its low rating suggests that users may encounter challenges or find it less user-friendly than expected. Unless a business specifically requires Launchpad's unique campaign-focused features and is already on Shopify Plus, Order Automator offers a more accessible and generally more effective solution.
