Layaway Control Panel vs Scala Parcelamento Installmentfor Shopify (2026)
Layaway Control Panel and Scala Parcelamento Installment both operate within the Payments category on Shopify, but cater to distinct merchant needs. Layaway Control Panel, based on its name, likely focuses on facilitating layaway payment plans directly within the Shopify store. Scala Parcelamento Installment, on the other hand, specializes in displaying existing Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) installment options provided by external payment processors like Klarna, Mercado Pago, and PayPal. It doesn't process transactions itself but enhances the shopping experience by visually presenting available payment plans to customers on product pages. Scala Parcelamento Installment's strength lies in its ease of integration and visual customization within the theme editor, allowing merchants to seamlessly showcase BNPL options. It also boasts compatibility with numerous currencies and claims to improve conversion rates. Layaway Control Panel is harder to assess from the available data, but its lower review count and implied layaway focus suggest it might be more relevant for merchants specifically wanting to offer and manage traditional layaway plans directly through their store. The difference is that Scala parcelamento is about showing the parcelamento installment options below the products, instead of controlling the layaway plans.

Our Verdict
For merchants already utilizing BNPL payment processors like Klarna or PayPal and wanting to visually present those installment options to customers, Scala Parcelamento Installment is the clear choice. Its higher rating, larger review base, theme editor integration, and specific focus on displaying installment plans make it well-suited for this purpose. The preview feature is very attractive for merchants seeking a fast setup.
Layaway Control Panel, without more information, appears geared toward merchants who want to implement and manage layaway plans directly on their Shopify store. If direct layaway management is the primary goal, and integration with existing BNPL providers isn't needed, Layaway Control Panel might be a better fit, though further investigation into its specific functionalities is recommended before making a decision.
