lookfor AI Agents & AI Chatbot vs Notch – Customer Support Suitefor Shopify (2026)
lookfor AI Agents & AI Chatbot and Notch – Customer Support Suite both aim to improve customer support for Shopify merchants, but they approach the problem from different angles. lookfor focuses on empowering merchants to build their own AI-driven support system, offering tools to automate tasks and integrate with Shopify functions. It appeals to merchants who want granular control over their customer service and prefer a DIY approach, leveraging AI agents and a data platform for optimization. Notch, on the other hand, positions itself as a full-service solution, taking over the entire customer support operation with a combination of AI and human expertise. Notch targets merchants seeking a hands-off solution where customer service is completely outsourced and managed for them. While lookfor offers features like order cancellation and address updates through AI agents that merchants can configure, Notch promises a complete takeover of the support function, leaving the merchant to focus solely on business growth. The key difference lies in the level of control and involvement the merchant desires: lookfor provides the tools, while Notch provides the service.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants who want to retain control and actively manage their customer support using AI tools, lookfor AI Agents & AI Chatbot is the better choice. Its focus on customizable AI agents and direct integration with Shopify functions allows for a highly tailored and optimized support experience. The higher number of reviews also suggests wider adoption and potentially more community support. However, for merchants who prefer a completely hands-off approach and are willing to outsource their entire customer support operation, Notch – Customer Support Suite is the more suitable option. It provides peace of mind by handling all aspects of customer support, allowing merchants to focus on other areas of their business. Though it has fewer reviews, its full-service model could be invaluable for businesses lacking the resources or expertise to manage customer support in-house.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for someone with no AI experience?
While both apps aim to simplify customer support, Notch likely has a lower learning curve for users without AI experience, as it handles everything on their behalf. lookfor requires some understanding of AI agents and how to configure them for specific tasks.
Which app provides more detailed analytics?
Based on the descriptions, lookfor provides a "data platform" to understand revenue and resolution rate. Notch mentions "data-driven business insights," but it's less specific about the depth and breadth of the analytics provided.
Can both apps handle order tracking inquiries?
Yes, both apps are capable of handling order tracking inquiries. lookfor explicitly states that its AI agents can track orders, while Notch implies this capability as part of its full-service customer support offering.
Which app is better for personalized product recommendations?
lookfor explicitly mentions using AI for personalized product recommendations and an "AI product finder," suggesting a stronger focus on this feature compared to Notch.
Which app is best for a high-volume Shopify store?
Both apps can potentially handle high-volume stores, but the choice depends on the merchant's preferred approach. Notch's full-service model might be better suited for very high volumes where managing a DIY system would be overwhelming. lookfor could also work, but might require more active management of the AI agents to ensure they can scale effectively.
