Magical Custom Fields & Upload vs Smart Size Chart & Size Guidefor Shopify (2026)
Magical Custom Fields & Upload focuses on extending product customization and order personalization through custom fields, file uploads, and upsells. Its strength lies in providing a flexible solution for merchants who need to collect specific information from customers during the ordering process, particularly useful for personalized products, customized orders, and gathering additional details for fulfillment. Notably, it caters to Shopify Plus merchants with checkout custom fields, indicating a focus on larger or more complex businesses. Smart Size Chart & Size Guide, conversely, is laser-focused on helping customers find the right size, reducing returns, and boosting sales by providing customizable and responsive size charts and guides. The primary difference between the apps lies in their functionality: Magical Custom Fields & Upload aims to customize the order process and enhance personalization, while Smart Size Chart & Size Guide aims to solve sizing issues in apparel and related industries. While both fall under the 'Custom products, Product variants' categories, their use cases are very different. One extends product features, the other addresses a specific purchase barrier. One app has a focus on larger stores with Shopify Plus capabilities, and the other focuses on a specific niche need. Both apps have perfect ratings, but Smart Size Chart & Size Guide has more reviews, suggesting a wider user base, potentially due to the common problem of sizing in apparel. Both apps emphasize ease of use, but Magical Custom Fields & Upload might have a steeper learning curve due to its broader range of features and conditional logic configurations.
