Marktplaats Pro vs Reputon eBay Importerfor Shopify (2026)
Marktplaats Pro and Reputon eBay Importer are both Shopify apps in the "Selling online" category, but they serve fundamentally different purposes and target different merchant profiles. Marktplaats Pro focuses on advertising existing Shopify products on the Marktplaats platform, a popular online marketplace. Its strength lies in synchronizing a merchant's product catalog with Marktplaats and enabling advertisements to drive traffic back to the merchant's Shopify store. In contrast, Reputon eBay Importer is designed to simplify the process of sourcing and importing products *from* eBay *to* a Shopify store. This makes it a valuable tool for dropshippers, affiliate marketers, or merchants looking to quickly populate their store with products from eBay listings. The key differentiator lies in the direction of product flow. Marktplaats Pro pushes existing Shopify products *out* to an external marketplace for advertisement. Reputon eBay Importer pulls products *in* from an external marketplace to populate a Shopify store. The user ratings and review counts also provide critical context. Reputon eBay Importer has a significantly higher rating (5/5 vs. 3.1/5) and a much larger number of reviews (37 vs. 7), suggesting greater user satisfaction and potentially more robust performance, although the small sample size for Marktplaats Pro should also be considered.

Our Verdict
Choosing between Marktplaats Pro and Reputon eBay Importer depends entirely on the merchant's business model and sourcing strategy. If a merchant already has a Shopify store with products and wants to expand their reach through advertising on Marktplaats, Marktplaats Pro is the relevant tool. The low rating and small number of reviews should prompt caution, warranting further investigation. However, if a merchant is building a Shopify store and wants to easily import products from eBay, especially for dropshipping or affiliate marketing, Reputon eBay Importer is the superior choice. Its higher rating and more substantial review count suggest a more reliable and user-friendly experience.
Ultimately, Reputon eBay Importer appears to be the stronger offering due to its higher ratings and larger user base. However, if a merchant specifically needs to advertise on Marktplaats, they should carefully consider the limited reviews and potential drawbacks of Marktplaats Pro before proceeding.
Common Questions
Which app is better for dropshipping?
Reputon eBay Importer is significantly better suited for dropshipping. It allows you to import products directly from eBay, a common dropshipping source, into your Shopify store.
Which app helps me sell my existing Shopify products on other platforms?
Marktplaats Pro is designed to help you sell your existing Shopify products on the Marktplaats platform.
Does either app provide customer support?
The app descriptions do not provide information about customer support for either app. Further research would be needed to determine support availability and quality.
Which app offers more robust data synchronization?
Both apps offer data synchronization, but for different purposes. Marktplaats Pro syncs stock levels with Marktplaats, while Reputon eBay Importer syncs price and stock availability from eBay. The 'robustness' would depend on the user's needs and the underlying API stability of Marktplaats and eBay, respectively.
