Modular Blocks: Theme Sections vs Progus Store Locator Mapfor Shopify (2026)
Modular Blocks: Theme Sections and Progus Store Locator Map cater to drastically different needs within the Shopify ecosystem. Modular Blocks aims to enhance the online shopping experience directly on a merchant's website by providing customizable theme blocks like animated buttons, size guides, and popups. In contrast, Progus Store Locator Map targets businesses with physical locations, enabling customers to easily find those stores. It emphasizes bridging the gap between online discovery and offline sales, offering features for store display, analytics, and multilingual support. The key difference lies in their value proposition. Modular Blocks focuses on enriching the customer journey *within* the online store, directly influencing purchase decisions through interactive elements. Progus Store Locator Map addresses the needs of merchants who operate brick-and-mortar stores and want to leverage their online presence to drive foot traffic. Our Verdict
The choice between Modular Blocks: Theme Sections and Progus Store Locator Map depends entirely on the merchant's business model and objectives. If the primary goal is to optimize the online shopping experience and boost conversions within the e-commerce store itself, Modular Blocks could be a beneficial addition, *assuming* it proves to be reliable and easy to implement. However, the lack of reviews makes it a risky choice in its current state.
For merchants with physical stores, Progus Store Locator Map is the clear winner. Its positive rating, established user base, and feature set designed specifically for store location make it a much safer and more valuable investment. The absence of API key requirements and features like bulk import further enhance its ease of use and integration. If a merchant doesn't have a physical location, Modular Blocks is the only possible choice, but its lack of reviews should give them pause.
