Mondial Relay ‑ Officiel vs Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZipfor Shopify (2026)
Mondial Relay ‑ Officiel and Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip cater to distinct shipping needs within the Shopify ecosystem. Mondial Relay ‑ Officiel focuses primarily on enabling deliveries via Mondial Relay's service points across France and Europe, including InPost locations in specific countries. Its strength lies in simplifying label creation, order fulfillment, and package tracking directly within the app, leveraging merchants' existing Mondial Relay accounts. This app primarily targets merchants already using or planning to use Mondial Relay and InPost for European deliveries, particularly those on Shopify Plus needing checkout integration. In contrast, Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip offers a broader, more customizable approach to shipping rate calculation and delivery management. It centers around advanced shipping rules based on product attributes, customer location (zip codes/postcodes), and cart parameters. With features like incremental shipping by weight or quantity, surcharge shipping, rate blending, and local delivery with time slots, ShipZip is well-suited for merchants requiring granular control over their shipping rates and delivery options. This includes businesses like bakeries or flower shops needing order delivery date functionality, or stores offering local pickup across multiple locations. It is important to note that this app requires Carrier Calculated Shipping API.

For merchants specifically needing Mondial Relay or InPost service point deliveries in Europe, Mondial Relay ‑ Officiel is the clear choice, offering direct integration and simplified workflows. The checkout integration for Shopify Plus merchants is a significant advantage. However, merchants needing sophisticated shipping rules, local delivery options, or advanced rate calculations based on product attributes and location should strongly consider Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip. While it may require more configuration, the level of customization it provides is unmatched for those with complex shipping needs, assuming they have access to the Carrier Calculated Shipping API.
