MyGLS Professional vs Return Prime:Return & Exchangefor Shopify (2026)
MyGLS Professional and Return Prime:Return & Exchange, while both categorized under "Shipping" in the Shopify app store, serve distinctly different functions. MyGLS Professional focuses on simplifying and automating GLS (General Logistics Systems) shipping, particularly within Eastern Europe, by providing unlimited label printing, parcel shop integration, and order tracking. It targets merchants heavily reliant on GLS for their shipping needs, especially those operating in or shipping to Eastern Europe, who require a direct integration and automation of their GLS processes. Its strength lies in streamlining the outbound shipping process through GLS. It claims to be an 'all-in-one' solution for GLS clients. Return Prime, on the other hand, tackles the post-purchase experience by streamlining the returns and exchanges process. It offers a branded return portal, automated return approvals, return label generation, and tools to recover revenue through exchanges, store credits, and upsells. Its strength lies in transforming returns into opportunities for increased customer lifetime value (LTV) and average order value (AOV). Return Prime's target audience are DTC brands seeking to improve customer satisfaction with returns and retain revenue that would otherwise be lost to refunds. Its integration with numerous WMS and logistics tools positions it as a robust solution for established brands.

Our Verdict
The choice between MyGLS Professional and Return Prime:Return & Exchange depends entirely on the merchant's needs. If your business heavily relies on GLS for shipping, especially to or within Eastern Europe, and you require automation of GLS label printing and order tracking, MyGLS Professional is the clear choice. The 'unlimited labels' is a compelling offer.
However, if your priority is to improve the returns experience for your customers, reduce refund costs, and find ways to retain revenue through exchanges and store credits, Return Prime is the superior option. Its broad integration with WMS and logistics tools suggests suitability for larger, more established brands with complex fulfillment operations. Return Prime addresses a critical aspect of customer retention that MyGLS Professional doesn't.
Common Questions
Which app is better for reducing shipping costs?
MyGLS Professional may indirectly reduce shipping costs by streamlining the label creation process, potentially leading to fewer errors and faster processing. Return Prime does not directly affect initial shipping costs but can reduce costs associated with returns by encouraging exchanges and store credits instead of refunds.
Does either app offer customer support?
Return Prime explicitly mentions 24/7 support. MyGLS Professional does not directly mention customer support, but it can be assumed support is provided to paying subscribers.
Which app is easier to set up?
This is difficult to determine definitively without user testing. However, MyGLS Professional's more focused feature set on GLS shipping suggests it may be simpler to set up for merchants already familiar with GLS processes, while Return Prime's broader functionality might require more initial configuration and integration with existing WMS/Logistics tools.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Yes. Given their different focuses - outbound GLS shipping versus inbound returns management - they can be used independently without conflicting. They address entirely different stages of the customer journey.
Which app is more suitable for a small startup?
It depends on the immediate needs. If the startup heavily uses GLS shipping, MyGLS Professional will be essential. If the startup's focus is on establishing customer trust and managing returns effectively from day one, Return Prime might be a worthwhile investment despite the potential higher complexity of initial setup compared to simpler return workflows (e.g., manual returns and refunds).
