MyGLS Professional vs SplitOrderfor Shopify (2026)
MyGLS Professional and SplitOrder are Shopify apps that both fall under the 'Orders' category but serve drastically different purposes. MyGLS Professional is specifically designed for merchants utilizing GLS (General Logistics Systems) shipping, particularly within Eastern Europe. It focuses on streamlining the shipping process through features like unlimited label printing, parcel shop integration, order tracking, and support for country-specific requirements like Romanian zip codes. Its strength lies in its comprehensive suite of GLS-related shipping tools, aiming to reduce the complexity of managing GLS shipments. SplitOrder, conversely, targets merchants facing complex fulfillment workflows. Its core function is to automate order splitting based on various criteria, such as item type (embroidered, oversized), supplier, or warehouse location. It aims to simplify fulfillment by routing items efficiently and integrating with systems like ShipStation. The app's strength is in its ability to create custom rules for order splitting, allowing for streamlined management of orders with diverse fulfillment needs. Therefore, MyGLS Professional is for merchants primarily using GLS for shipping, while SplitOrder is for merchants needing advanced order management for complex fulfillment.

Our Verdict
The choice between MyGLS Professional and SplitOrder depends heavily on the merchant's specific needs. If a merchant primarily ships using GLS, especially within Eastern Europe, and seeks to streamline their GLS shipping process, MyGLS Professional is the clear choice. Its unlimited label printing and parcel shop integration offer significant advantages.
However, if a merchant struggles with complex fulfillment workflows due to factors like multiple suppliers, different warehouse locations, or product variations requiring specialized handling, SplitOrder is the more suitable option. Its rule-based order splitting allows for automated and efficient fulfillment, saving time and reducing errors. A merchant not utilizing GLS shipping would find very little value in MyGLS Professional, while a merchant only shipping standard items from a single location would not require SplitOrder.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Based on the provided descriptions, it's difficult to definitively assess ease of use. MyGLS Professional, with its focus on a specific shipping provider, likely has a simpler interface for GLS-related tasks. However, SplitOrder's rule-based system might require a learning curve to set up complex splitting rules.
Which app offers better value for money?
The value proposition of each app depends on the merchant's needs. If a merchant ships a high volume of GLS parcels, unlimited label printing from MyGLS Professional could offer significant cost savings. For merchants with complex fulfillment, the time saved and reduced errors from SplitOrder's automation could justify its cost.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Yes, it's technically possible to use both apps if their functionalities don't overlap. A merchant could use SplitOrder to manage order fulfillment and then use MyGLS Professional to handle the GLS shipping aspects of the resulting split orders. However, this setup would require careful configuration and understanding of both apps.
Does MyGLS Professional work with other shipping carriers?
The description indicates MyGLS Professional is specifically designed for GLS. It doesn't mention support for other shipping carriers. Therefore, if you use carriers other than GLS, you would need a separate solution.
What happens if I don't use ShipStation? Can SplitOrder still work?
SplitOrder can still split orders and re-route them to different warehouses independently of ShipStation. However, the description explicitly mentions integration with ShipStation for order management. Using SplitOrder without ShipStation may limit its full potential for automating the fulfillment workflow. It will create separate Shopify orders that will still need to be fulfilled.
