MyGLS Professional vs SPX Expressfor Shopify (2026)
MyGLS Professional and SPX Express are shipping apps on the Shopify platform, but they cater to vastly different needs and geographic locations. MyGLS Professional focuses specifically on GLS (General Logistics Systems) shipping, especially within Eastern Europe. Its primary strength lies in its comprehensive integration with GLS, offering features like unlimited label printing, parcel shop integration, COD fee handling, and automated order status tracking. This suggests a target audience of merchants heavily reliant on GLS for their shipping needs, particularly those shipping to or from Eastern Europe. SPX Express, on the other hand, presents itself as a general solution for streamlining fulfillment. While it lacks the specialized GLS focus of MyGLS Professional, it aims to simplify the shipping process within Shopify itself, touting ease of use with features like order creation within the admin panel. The key difference lies in their specialization and target audience. MyGLS Professional offers in-depth GLS integration and specialized features useful for merchants shipping in Eastern Europe. SPX Express aims for broader appeal by providing a simplified, general shipping solution directly within the Shopify admin. The extreme differences in reviews and ratings (MyGLS at 5 stars with 123 reviews and SPX Express at 0 stars with 1 review) also suggest a large discrepancy in user satisfaction and potential reliability. A final key aspect to highlight is that MyGLS Professional is a 3rd-party app (not created by GLS), while the origin of SPX Express isn't clear from the descriptions. Therefore, it's important for merchants to understand the potential nuances of relying on a 3rd party app versus one that may be directly affiliated with a carrier.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants heavily reliant on GLS, especially for deliveries within or from Eastern Europe, MyGLS Professional appears to be the superior choice. Its high rating and numerous reviews suggest a reliable and feature-rich solution tailored to GLS requirements. The unlimited label printing and parcel shop integration are particularly valuable assets. However, the 3rd-party aspect must be carefully considered. In contrast, SPX Express aims to simplify the shipping process for merchants who may not have a specific carrier preference, or those who value simplicity and direct integration with Shopify. The single 0-star review, though limited, raises concerns about the app's current state and user experience.
Given the information available in 2026, MyGLS Professional would be the safer recommendation unless a merchant explicitly prioritizes only the most basic shipping features and direct integration within the Shopify admin *and* is willing to take a risk on an app with so few positive indicators. A strong preference for simplicity combined with a flexible carrier choice could potentially justify experimenting with SPX Express, but with caution and close monitoring. New merchants may wish to also consider well established carriers such as UPS, USPS, FedEx, and DHL which likely have first party applications available.
Common Questions
Which app is better for a merchant shipping exclusively within Germany using DHL?
Neither app appears to be explicitly tailored for DHL or specific German shipping needs. Both apps would require more evaluation before deciding on which is best for this merchant.
Does SPX Express offer parcel shop integration like MyGLS Professional?
The description for SPX Express doesn't mention parcel shop integration. MyGLS Professional does offer it.
Is MyGLS Professional an official app by GLS?
No, the description clearly states that MyGLS Professional is a third-party application, not owned by GLS General Logistics Systems.
Which app offers unlimited label printing?
MyGLS Professional explicitly offers unlimited GLS label printing with an active subscription.
Which app is likely easier to use for a Shopify beginner?
Based on the descriptions, SPX Express *aims* to be easier to use due to its emphasis on simplicity and order creation directly within the Shopify admin. However, the lack of reviews and ratings makes it hard to assess its success at this aim. MyGLS Professional is feature-rich and might have a steeper learning curve for a beginner, even though the 123 ratings are impressive.
