MyGLS Professional vs Ultimate Custom Order Statusfor Shopify (2026)
MyGLS Professional and Ultimate Custom Order Status both aim to improve order management within Shopify, but they serve fundamentally different purposes and target distinct merchant profiles. MyGLS Professional focuses on streamlining shipping operations, specifically for merchants using GLS (General Logistics Systems) within Eastern Europe. It offers unlimited label printing, parcel shop integration, and automated order status tracking, providing a comprehensive solution for managing GLS shipments. Its core strength lies in its robust shipping-centric features and automation capabilities for the GLS ecosystem. It's a mature app reflected in the 123 positive reviews. On the other hand, Ultimate Custom Order Status centers around enhancing the post-purchase customer experience by providing granular control over order status updates. It allows merchants to create custom statuses to reflect their unique workflow and automatically inform customers via email, SMS, and WhatsApp. Ultimate Custom Order Status distinguishes itself through its emphasis on clear communication, improved customer satisfaction, and reduction of support inquiries. While both apps address 'Order Tracking,' MyGLS Professional addresses the tracking from a shipping logistics standpoint, while Ultimate Custom Order Status addresses order tracking from a customer transparency standpoint. The apps target different business problems and, for some users, may even complement each other in optimizing overall order fulfillment and customer satisfaction. However, the very small number of reviews (1) should caution a merchant to scrutinize the app's feature set and user reviews more extensively.

Our Verdict
MyGLS Professional is the clear choice for Shopify merchants heavily reliant on GLS shipping within Eastern Europe. Its unlimited label printing and parcel shop integration offer tangible benefits in terms of efficiency and cost savings. The automatized tracking provides essential logistical control. Conversely, Ultimate Custom Order Status is better suited for merchants who prioritize enhancing the customer experience through transparent communication. If you have a complex production process with multiple order stages, this app allows you to keep your customers informed at every step, reducing support requests and building trust.
Ultimately, the selection depends on your primary need: shipping logistics for GLS or customer communication regarding order status. If you already use GLS, consider MyGLS Professional. If you want to improve customer experience, consider Ultimate Custom Order Status, but with caution, given the very low number of reviews.
