MyGLS Professional vs WhatsAppfor Shopify (2026)
MyGLS Professional and WhatsApp both address order tracking for Shopify merchants, but target fundamentally different needs. MyGLS Professional is a comprehensive shipping label and logistics management solution focused specifically on merchants utilizing GLS (General Logistics Systems, particularly in Eastern Europe). It provides unlimited label printing, parcel shop integration, COD fee handling, and order status tracking, streamlining the shipping process for businesses relying on GLS. Its strength lies in automating and optimizing GLS-related shipping workflows. WhatsApp, on the other hand, focuses on post-purchase customer communication using Meta's messaging platform. Its strength is in engaging customers, providing timely order updates through WhatsApp, and potentially reducing support inquiries. It aims to enhance the customer experience rather than streamline shipping operations directly. MyGLS Professional targets businesses primarily shipping within GLS's Eastern European network, especially those needing automated order tracking and parcel shop integrations. It is geared toward merchants who want to heavily automate their GLS shipping processes, from label creation to order status updates. WhatsApp targets a broader audience of Shopify merchants aiming to improve customer engagement and reduce support load by leveraging the popular WhatsApp platform for order updates. It aims to build stronger customer relationships and improve post-purchase satisfaction through personalized and readily accessible updates. Thus, the choice depends heavily on whether a merchant's primary need is GLS shipping optimization or general customer communication improvements.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants primarily using GLS for their shipping needs, especially those operating within Eastern Europe, MyGLS Professional is the clear choice. Its features are specifically designed to optimize GLS shipping workflows, potentially saving time and reducing errors. However, if a merchant's priority is enhancing customer communication and improving post-purchase customer experience across various shipping carriers, then the WhatsApp app would be a better fit. Its ability to provide timely order updates and leverage WhatsApp's interactive features can significantly improve customer satisfaction and potentially reduce support load. Given the lack of reviews for WhatsApp, however, caution is advised; merchants should carefully evaluate their needs and perhaps look for alternative WhatsApp integration apps with established track records if concerns arise. If a merchant needs both functionalities, both applications could be used but they have completely different scopes.
