Navvy: Customer Tag Based Menu vs Search & Discovery ‑ Viselyfor Shopify (2026)
Navvy: Customer Tag Based Menu and Search & Discovery ‑ Visely both fall under the 'Search and navigation' and 'Navigation and menus' categories on the Shopify app store, but they address vastly different aspects of the customer experience. Navvy focuses on *personalized* navigation by tailoring header menus based on customer tags or specific pages. This positions it as a tool for improving customer loyalty and repeat purchases through highly relevant navigation experiences. Visely, on the other hand, centers around improving *search functionality* and discovery with features like relevant search results, suggestions, and customizable filters. It aims to enhance user engagement and boost sales by helping customers quickly find what they're looking for, regardless of catalog size. The key distinction lies in their approaches. Navvy offers personalized, segmented navigation for a more curated experience, potentially reducing support requests by directing customers to relevant information. Visely prioritizes efficient product discovery across the entire store catalog, streamlining the search process and leveraging features like recommendations and internationalization. The apps complement each other, but address different pain points within the overall customer journey.

Our Verdict
Given the current data, Search & Discovery - Visely appears to be the stronger option for most merchants looking to improve their store's navigation due to its proven track record based on the rating and reviews. Its focus on powerful search functionality and tailored filters offers immediate benefits in product discovery. Navvy's unique approach to personalized navigation based on customer tags could be beneficial for merchants with well-defined customer segments and a desire to create highly customized experiences. However, the lack of reviews makes it difficult to assess its reliability and ease of use.
Ultimately, the choice depends on the merchant's specific needs. If personalized navigation for specific customer segments is a priority and the merchant is willing to take a chance on a new app, Navvy could be worth exploring. However, for general improvements to search and product discovery, Visely, with its established reputation, is the safer and more likely effective choice.
