Normalize Gift Wrap & Message vs Selling Pointfor Shopify (2026)
Normalize Gift Wrap & Message and Selling Point both address elements of gift-giving on Shopify, but target very different merchant needs. Normalize Gift Wrap & Message focuses on enabling merchants to offer gift wrapping and personalized messages as part of the purchase process, directly impacting the shopping experience and potentially boosting AOV through premium add-ons. Its strength lies in providing an integrated gifting option seamlessly woven into the storefront. Selling Point, on the other hand, addresses the logistical challenge of migrating existing gift card or store credit systems to Shopify. Selling Point's value proposition centers around simplifying the often-complex process of transferring gift card balances from legacy systems, empowering merchants to transition to Shopify more easily without losing pre-existing customer value. It also offers the ability to generate and distribute new gift cards for marketing purposes. The target audiences differ significantly: Normalize Gift Wrap & Message is for merchants looking to enhance the immediate customer experience and increase sales through gift options, while Selling Point targets merchants migrating from other platforms or POS systems who need to transfer or bulk-generate gift cards.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on enhancing the in-store experience and boosting average order value through personalized gifting options, Normalize Gift Wrap & Message is the clear choice. Its focus on seamless integration and ease of use makes it ideal for offering customers a premium gifting experience. However, if a merchant is migrating to Shopify from another platform or needs to manage a large number of gift cards or store credits, Selling Point is the more suitable option. Its core strength lies in simplifying the migration process and enabling bulk gift card management, a crucial consideration for those making the platform transition. While Selling Point's rating is higher, the significantly greater number of reviews for Selling Point indicates greater market validation for its more niche function.
