Novo: Ticker & Marquee vs Sherpas: Smart SEOfor Shopify (2026)
Novo: Ticker & Marquee and Sherpas: Smart SEO are both highly-rated Shopify apps (5/5), but cater to drastically different needs. Novo focuses on enhancing the visual appeal and promotional capabilities of a Shopify store through a customizable announcement bar featuring scrolling text, images, and dynamic content. Its strength lies in its ease of installation and customization, allowing merchants to quickly grab customer attention and highlight key messages. Sherpas, on the other hand, addresses the technical aspects of SEO, aiming to improve a store's ranking in search engine results pages (SERPs) and drive organic traffic. The primary distinction lies in their purpose: Novo is about on-site engagement and visual merchandising, while Sherpas is about off-site discoverability and search engine optimization. Novo targets merchants who want to improve their on-site communication and promotions with visually appealing announcement bars. Sherpas is geared towards merchants who are serious about improving their SEO performance and driving organic traffic, offering tools for meta tag generation, image optimization, and link management. While both share the 'Images and media' category, Novo uses them for visual engagement and Sherpas uses them for SEO optimization.
