Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a simple and effective way to display estimated delivery dates and improve customer trust, OC Estimated Delivery Date is the better choice. It prioritizes clarity and ease of use, making it ideal for smaller businesses or those with straightforward shipping processes.
However, if you require advanced shipping rules, granular control over shipping rates based on various parameters like zip codes, product attributes, or distance, and need features like local delivery scheduling, Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip is the superior option, despite its higher complexity. Businesses like bakeries, florists, or those with location-specific shipping policies will find its features essential.
Common Questions
Does OC Estimated Delivery Date offer location-based shipping rates?
No, OC Estimated Delivery Date focuses on *estimating* delivery dates, not calculating shipping rates based on location. Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip handles location-based rates using zip codes and distance.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Technically, you *could* install both. However, it's unlikely to be ideal. OC Estimated Delivery Date's value proposition is largely covered by ShipZip's delivery date estimation alongside complex shipping rules, and you would be paying for overlapping functionality and creating potential confusion for customers.
Which app is easier to set up?
OC Estimated Delivery Date is likely easier to set up due to its focus on a narrower set of features. Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip, with its advanced shipping rules and numerous configuration options, will require more time and technical expertise to configure correctly.
Which app helps more with local delivery?
Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip is the clear winner for local delivery. It offers features like order delivery date selection by zipcode, order limit time slots, and store pickup options, which are essential for businesses offering local delivery services.
Which app offers more language and timezone support?
OC Estimated Delivery Date explicitly mentions automatic display of messages in the customer’s language and local time zone, offering a clear advantage in that area, though ShipZip may offer some similar configurations.
