Our Verdict
Real ID ‑ ID verification is the clear choice for Shopify merchants seeking a robust and automated solution to combat chargeback fraud and ensure compliance with age restrictions. Its AI-powered ID verification system, integration with the checkout process, and customer tagging features offer significant advantages for businesses handling high-value or age-sensitive products. Ongoing Disable Right Click, while potentially useful for a very specific niche concerned about content theft, lacks the depth, features, and user base to compete with Real ID's comprehensive fraud prevention capabilities. For most merchants in 2026, Real ID will provide a far greater return on investment in terms of fraud prevention and regulatory compliance.
