Ongoing Disable Right Click vs Speed Defenderfor Shopify (2026)
Both Ongoing Disable Right Click and Speed Defender aim to protect Shopify stores from content theft, but they approach the problem with different feature sets and target slightly different users. Ongoing Disable Right Click, based on its name, focuses primarily on disabling right-click functionality, likely to prevent easy copying of images and text. Speed Defender, on the other hand, offers a broader suite of protection measures, including disabling right-click, hiding bestsellers, removing keyboard shortcuts, hiding source code, and attempting to disable print screens. This suggests a more comprehensive, albeit potentially more intrusive, approach to content protection. It is important to note the large disparity in the number of reviews between the two apps, which may indicate the apps are not as comparable as the shopify categories suggest.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with preventing simple image and text theft via right-clicking, Ongoing Disable Right Click may be a sufficient and less intrusive solution. Its limited functionality likely translates to easier setup and minimal impact on the user experience. However, for merchants with valuable original content and high security concerns, Speed Defender offers a more comprehensive suite of preventative measures, though its aggressive approach might come at the cost of user experience and could trigger false positives. Given the low review count of both apps, careful consideration of potential side effects and thorough testing after installation are highly recommended. The limited data makes a conclusive recommendation difficult; more reviews and user feedback would be ideal.
