Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with clearly communicating estimated delivery dates to reduce customer inquiries and improve transparency, Order Deadline 2 is the more suitable option. Its focus on delivery date display, countdown timers, and ease of integration makes it a straightforward solution.
However, if a merchant requires advanced control over shipping rates based on product attributes, customer location, or distance, and needs robust local delivery management with options like time slots and order limits, Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip is the better choice. Despite the steeper learning curve and potentially more complex setup, the granular control over shipping costs and delivery options provides greater flexibility and optimization for businesses with intricate fulfillment needs.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Order Deadline 2 is likely easier to set up due to its narrower focus on estimated delivery dates, while Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip's advanced features may require more configuration.
Which app is better for local businesses offering deliveries?
Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip is better suited for local businesses as it provides comprehensive local delivery management features, including time slots, order limits, and store pickup options. Order Deadline 2 does not offer direct management of local delivery.

Order Deadline 2 focuses on *displaying* estimated delivery dates based on existing shipping methods. It does not create custom shipping rules in the same way that Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip does.
Can Shipping & Delivery - ShipZip display estimated delivery dates?
While Shipping & Delivery - ShipZip focuses on calculating custom shipping rates and managing local delivery, it *may* offer order delivery date display functionality by zipcode as stated in the description, but this is not its primary function like it is for Order Deadline 2. Which app is the best choice for a new Shopify store?
