PAL ‑ Gift Wrap, Gift Messages vs Ribbon | Giftingfor Shopify (2026)
Both PAL - Gift Wrap, Gift Messages and Ribbon | Gifting are gifting apps for Shopify, each aiming to enhance the customer experience and boost sales through gift-related features. However, they take fundamentally different approaches. Ribbon | Gifting positions itself as a comprehensive gifting platform, moving beyond simple gift wrapping and messages to allow customers to gift specific products without needing recipient addresses upfront. It focuses on introducing new customers, upselling during redemption, creating gift-driven campaigns, and predicting demand. PAL, on the other hand, with limited data, appears to be focused on providing basic gift wrapping and messaging functionality to existing products during the checkout process.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a straightforward way to add gift-wrapping and messaging options to their store, PAL - Gift Wrap, Gift Messages could be a simpler solution. Given the limited data, we are assuming it provides this core functionality. However, for merchants aiming to create comprehensive gifting experiences, acquire new customers through gifting, run targeted gift campaigns, and upsell during the redemption process, Ribbon | Gifting is the clear winner. Ribbon | Gifting offers a complete gifting solution. Keep in mind that both apps have very few reviews; further investigation into user feedback would be advised before making a final decision.
