PartialPay Deposit & Split COD vs Tence Add‑Onsfor Shopify (2026)
PartialPay Deposit & Split COD and Tence Add-Ons both touch on the 'Payments' category in the Shopify App Store, but they cater to drastically different merchant needs and strategies. PartialPay focuses primarily on flexible payment options for higher-value items or pre-orders, allowing customers to make partial payments, deposits, or pay upon shipment. This is ideal for merchants needing to manage complex payment schedules and looking to increase conversions by offering greater payment flexibility. Tence Add-Ons, on the other hand, offers a suite of theme enhancements designed to improve the overall shopping experience with a focus on promoting advantages and payment conditions. The key difference lies in their core functionality. PartialPay directly alters the payment process to facilitate partial payments, whereas Tence Add-Ons enhances the user interface and adds features to subtly influence purchasing decisions and improve site navigation. The ideal user for PartialPay would be a store selling pre-order items, high-priced goods, or products requiring deposits. Tence Add-Ons targets stores looking to improve their customer experience through UI enhancements. Tence Add-Ons promotes itself as not changing any theme files, which may appeal to merchants less confident in their technical abilities.

Our Verdict
For merchants who need a solution to handle pre-orders, deposits, or split COD payments, PartialPay Deposit & Split COD is the clear choice. It directly addresses the complexities of managing partial payments and offers the necessary tools for customization. However, the lack of reviews is a significant risk factor.
Tence Add-Ons is better suited for merchants who are satisfied with their existing payment process but want to improve the overall shopping experience and highlight key promotions. Its selling point of not changing theme files can be advantageous for beginners who may be intimidated by more complex integrations. The app appears to focus on simple-to-implement UX enhancements.
