Partialy ‑ Partial Payment COD vs Skeps Pay‑Over‑Time Messagingfor Shopify (2026)
Partialy ‑ Partial Payment COD and Skeps Pay‑Over‑Time Messaging address different aspects of flexible payments on Shopify, though both fall under the 'Payments' category. Partialy is an all-in-one solution for partial payments, deposits, and advanced Cash on Delivery (COD) management, targeting merchants who want to offer flexible payment options at checkout and manage COD rules effectively. It focuses on allowing customers to pay a portion upfront and the remainder upon delivery, improving sales and reducing Return to Origin (RTO). Key features include customizable COD rules, shipping rates, and the ability to offer discounts for prepaid orders. Skeps Pay‑Over‑Time Messaging, on the other hand, functions as a lead generator for installment payment plans. It advertises 'Pay-Over-Time' options on product pages, directing customers to a separate 'Skeps Pay-Over-Time' app to complete the purchase. This app appears focused on enabling larger purchase amounts with installment loans up to $25K from national banks. It offers configurable financing options at the SKU level and geographical level, useful for targeted promotional campaigns. While Partialy provides a direct checkout payment solution, Skeps acts as a marketing tool to attract customers with payment plans, requiring a separate app for actual payment processing.

Our Verdict
Partialy ‑ Partial Payment COD is the better choice for merchants seeking a comprehensive solution for managing partial payments and Cash on Delivery within their Shopify store. Its integrated approach streamlines the checkout process and offers greater control over payment options. The higher rating and existing reviews suggest that users are generally satisfied with its features and performance.
Skeps Pay‑Over‑Time Messaging might be suitable for merchants selling high-value items and looking to attract customers with installment payment options, however the lack of ratings and reviews, coupled with the requirement of another Skeps app, suggest that merchants should proceed with caution and consider competitors with more proven solutions. Furthermore, those merchants NOT already integrated with Skeps will face a much larger integration overhead.
