Photolock ‑ Pasilobus vs Sherpas: Smart SEOfor Shopify (2026)
Photolock ‑ Pasilobus and Sherpas: Smart SEO, while both categorized under 'Images and Media' on Shopify, target very different needs. Photolock focuses on protecting a merchant's existing visual content from unauthorized use, essentially acting as a digital rights management (DRM) solution. It aims to prevent image theft and source code copying, primarily benefiting merchants with unique or valuable visual assets they want to safeguard. Sherpas: Smart SEO, on the other hand, is designed to improve a store's search engine optimization (SEO) performance. It provides tools and automation for optimizing meta tags, images, page speed, and structured data to improve search engine rankings and drive organic traffic. The core distinction lies in their primary function: Photolock offers content protection, while Sherpas provides SEO enhancement. Photolock targets merchants concerned about intellectual property theft, offering features like disabling right-click, watermarking, and hiding source code. Sherpas, in contrast, appeals to merchants seeking increased visibility and organic traffic through improved SEO practices. It leverages AI (ChatGPT-4 Turbo) for tasks like meta tag generation and focuses on optimizing website performance for search engines.
