Porter Metrics vs Zigpoll Customer Surveysfor Shopify (2026)
Porter Metrics and Zigpoll Customer Surveys are both Shopify apps in the Analytics category, but they address very different needs. Porter Metrics focuses on aggregating and reporting sales and product data to external tools like Google Sheets, aiming to provide a centralized view of marketing performance and enable cross-channel analysis. Its target audience is likely merchants who require advanced, customized reporting beyond Shopify's built-in analytics and are comfortable working with spreadsheets and data analysis tools. Zigpoll Customer Surveys, on the other hand, concentrates on gathering direct customer feedback through various survey types (post-purchase, pre-purchase, on-site, email, and SMS).

Our Verdict
For merchants needing deep-dive analytics and custom reporting, especially those already relying heavily on Google Sheets for data analysis, Porter Metrics appears to be the better choice, assuming they can overcome the low review count with further research and potentially a free trial. However, for the vast majority of Shopify merchants primarily focused on understanding their customers' needs, pain points, and motivations to optimize their store, products, and marketing strategies, Zigpoll Customer Surveys is the more compelling option. The significantly higher review count suggests a more mature and widely adopted product with a proven track record of delivering value.
