POS Module RKSV vs Progus Store Locator Mapfor Shopify (2026)
POS Module RKSV and Progus Store Locator Map, while both listed under the 'Selling in person' Shopify category, serve fundamentally different purposes. POS Module RKSV is a highly specialized application tailored specifically for Austrian merchants needing to comply with RKSV regulations for point-of-sale (POS) systems. It automates the signing of POS receipts and generates QR codes for Finanz Online, supporting both POS Pro and POS Lite. The app emphasizes compliance, security, and ease of use in German, with Austrian-based support. Progus Store Locator Map, on the other hand, is a more broadly applicable tool designed to help customers find physical store locations. It offers extensive customization options, advanced analytics, and multilingual support, making it suitable for businesses with multiple locations or dealer networks worldwide. The key difference lies in their target audience and core functionality. RKSV is for Austrian businesses needing RKSV-compliant POS systems, while Progus is for any business with physical locations seeking to improve store discoverability and customer experience. RKSV focuses on regulatory compliance and secure transaction processing within a specific national context, while Progus concentrates on marketing, customer engagement, and geographic information management. The number of reviews clearly indicates greater user adoption and potentially broader applicability of the Progus store locator, although the high rating of RKSV suggests strong satisfaction within its niche.
