Prime Review vs Rocket Google Reviewsfor Shopify (2026)
Prime Review and Rocket Google Reviews both target Shopify merchants seeking to enhance their product pages with review functionality. However, their approaches and perceived quality differ significantly. Prime Review positions itself as an all-in-one solution, offering product reviews, a favorites/likes feature, and a Q&A section. It emphasizes ease of installation, customizability through the theme editor, and compatibility with OS2.0/1.0 themes. The description suggests a focus on providing a familiar e-commerce experience and a user-friendly admin interface. Rocket Google Reviews, on the other hand, concentrates solely on importing Google Reviews. The most striking difference lies in user ratings and review volume. Prime Review suffers from a very low rating of 1.7/5 based on only 4 reviews, suggesting potential issues with functionality, support, or overall user experience. Rocket Google Reviews boasts a perfect 5/5 rating with a much larger sample size of 232 reviews, indicating a generally positive user sentiment and reliable performance. This significant disparity in user feedback makes Rocket Google Reviews the stronger contender, assuming the merchant's primary goal is displaying reviews from Google. Prime Review may appeal to merchants needing the extra features it bundles, and who are willing to take a risk on an app with very limited, and negative feedback.

Our Verdict
For most Shopify merchants in 2026, Rocket Google Reviews is the safer and likely superior choice, primarily due to its overwhelmingly positive user feedback and high review volume. The app's focus on Google Reviews also allows merchants to leverage pre-existing social proof and credibility. Unless a merchant has a specific need for the additional features offered by Prime Review (favorites/likes, Q&A) and is willing to gamble on an app with a poor rating and low review count, Rocket Google Reviews is the clear winner.
However, Prime Review could potentially be considered if a merchant needs all three features (reviews, likes/favorites, Q&A) and struggles to find another app that combines them cohesively. In this case, proceed with extreme caution, closely monitor app performance, and be prepared to switch to an alternative if issues arise. Given the rating discrepancy, investigating *why* Prime Review has such low ratings is crucial before committing.
