Product Rentals Pro vs Smart Size Chart & Size Guidefor Shopify (2026)
Product Rentals Pro and Smart Size Chart & Size Guide are both 5-star rated apps available on the Shopify App Store, but cater to vastly different needs. Product Rentals Pro focuses on enabling rental functionality for physical products, providing a booking calendar, rental management tools, and features to optimize product availability. Its strength lies in its specialized features like default buffer configurations based on delivery method and the ability to manually adjust these buffers, along with a "Rent or Buy" option and insurance upsell. It's designed for merchants looking to offer rentals of physical items, manage bookings, and streamline rental operations. Smart Size Chart & Size Guide, on the other hand, tackles the problem of inaccurate sizing and returns by allowing merchants to create stylish, customizable size charts. Its strengths lie in its highly customizable design options, pre-built templates for various product categories (clothing, shoes, jewelry, pets), and responsive design. It's a more general-purpose app targeting merchants selling items where sizing is a critical factor, helping them reduce returns and boost sales by providing clear size information to customers. The multi-language support adds another layer of appeal for international sellers.

Our Verdict
The choice between Product Rentals Pro and Smart Size Chart & Size Guide hinges entirely on the merchant's business model. If the merchant's core offering involves renting out physical products, then Product Rentals Pro is the clear winner. Its purpose-built features for managing rentals, including booking calendars and buffer configuration, are invaluable.
However, if the merchant sells products where sizing is critical, such as clothing, shoes, or accessories, Smart Size Chart & Size Guide is the more suitable choice. While both apps share the "Custom Products" category, they address fundamentally different needs within the Shopify ecosystem. Merchants selling rental products would not benefit from size charts, and those selling apparel will find little use in rental-specific functionalities.
