Product Samples by Luke vs Spresso.AI Pricing Enginefor Shopify (2026)
Product Samples by Luke and Spresso.AI Pricing Engine are both Shopify apps in the Pricing category, but they address fundamentally different needs. Product Samples by Luke focuses on enabling merchants to offer product samples to customers, aiming to boost sales, reduce returns, and increase customer satisfaction. It hinges on providing a sampling option before a full purchase, improving perceived value and fit. In contrast, Spresso.AI Pricing Engine is designed to optimize pricing at the SKU level using AI, protecting profit margins and dynamically adjusting to market conditions and product lifecycles. While both apps aim to improve profitability, they do so through entirely different mechanisms. Product Samples aims to increase the volume and reduce costs associated with returns by providing the opportunity for sampling. Spresso.AI focuses on maximizing revenue and profit per sale through optimized pricing strategies. The choice between the two depends entirely on the merchant's primary goal: acquisition and reduced return costs through sampling versus enhanced profitability through dynamic, AI-powered pricing strategies.

Our Verdict
For merchants struggling with high return rates or selling products where a sample is essential for customer confidence, Product Samples by Luke is the more suitable option. It directly addresses the need to allow customers to evaluate a product before committing to a full purchase. This can lead to increased customer satisfaction and fewer returns, ultimately boosting profitability.
However, for merchants seeking to optimize their pricing strategy at a granular level and maximize profit margins, Spresso.AI Pricing Engine is the better choice. Its AI-powered dynamic pricing adapts to market conditions and product lifecycles, ensuring optimal pricing for each SKU. This is especially valuable for merchants with large product catalogs and complex pricing strategies. It's best for those who need assistance with their pricing structure and who value profit margin over conversion rate in specific situations.
