Product Samples by Luke vs Uncap Quote Requestsfor Shopify (2026)
Product Samples by Luke and Uncap Quote Requests both fall under the 'Pricing' and 'Pricing quotes' categories on the Shopify app store, but they address entirely different aspects of the customer journey. Product Samples aims to boost sales and reduce returns by allowing customers to try product samples, focusing on product discovery and building confidence before a purchase. In contrast, Uncap Quote Requests centers on enabling customers to request customized pricing, primarily useful for products or services where pricing is variable or requires specific configurations. Product Samples caters to merchants looking to encourage trial and reduce purchase anxiety, likely those selling consumable goods, cosmetics, or products where fit/feel is important. Its core value proposition is improved customer satisfaction and reduced returns. Uncap Quote Requests targets businesses with complex pricing models, custom offerings, or those in industries where negotiation is common, such as wholesale or B2B sales. It emphasizes lead generation and the ability to provide personalized pricing based on specific customer needs. The difference lies primarily in their approach to addressing customer concerns related to pricing. One empowers trial, the other facilitates negotiation.

Our Verdict
Product Samples by Luke is the better option for merchants who sell products where customers might hesitate due to uncertainty about quality, fit, or taste. The positive ratings and reviews suggest it effectively helps increase sales and reduce returns by allowing customers to try before they buy. The detailed app's metrics are also a great addition.
Uncap Quote Requests is suitable for businesses that offer custom products or services where pricing is not fixed or where negotiation is typical. However, the lack of reviews and a 0/5 rating is concerning. Merchants should proceed with caution and potentially seek alternatives or carefully vet the app's functionality and support before committing to it. Ultimately, choose based on the specific nature of your products and pricing strategy.
