Product Volume Discounts vs Quick Quotefor Shopify (2026)
Product Volume Discounts and Quick Quote, both in the 'Pricing' category on the Shopify App Store, offer distinct solutions for merchants. Product Volume Discounts focuses on automating tiered pricing based on quantity directly within the Shopify system. It aims to improve Average Order Value (AOV) by displaying clear bulk pricing and caters to B2C, B2B, and wholesale businesses by offering features like customer segment-specific discounts. The app boasts native integration with Shopify's core functions (cart, checkout, POS) and leverages metafields for data storage, potentially offering greater customization in pricing display. In contrast, Quick Quote provides a more personalized and manual approach to pricing. It enables customers to request quotes for items in their cart, allowing merchants to review the request, apply discounts, and send a custom quote back to the customer. The app facilitates communication between the merchant and customer throughout the quoting process, tracking the status of each quote, making it valuable for scenarios where pricing requires negotiation or customization. Quick Quote appears geared toward businesses that value personalized interactions and offer complex or variable pricing. The significant difference lies in their approach to pricing: Product Volume Discounts automates volume-based discounts, while Quick Quote facilitates manual quote generation and negotiation.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking to automate volume-based discounts and improve AOV without manual intervention, Product Volume Discounts appears to be the more suitable option. Its native Shopify integration and support for various business models (B2C, B2B, wholesale) make it appealing. However, the complete lack of reviews at the time of this comparison requires caution; the merchant would essentially be a beta tester.
Quick Quote, on the other hand, is ideal for businesses that require a more personalized pricing strategy and value direct customer interaction. Companies that offer custom products, complex services, or operate in industries where pricing is negotiable will find Quick Quote more beneficial. The app's positive reviews provide a degree of confidence in its functionality and user experience. Ultimately, the choice depends on the merchant's pricing model and preferred level of automation.
