Quick Quote vs VariPrice ‑ POS Custom Pricingfor Shopify (2026)
Quick Quote and VariPrice - POS Custom Pricing are both Shopify apps targeting pricing-related challenges, but they address entirely different needs. Quick Quote focuses on enabling merchants to provide custom quotes to customers directly through the Shopify cart. This facilitates negotiation and personalized pricing, potentially leading to increased sales for items where standard pricing isn't suitable. VariPrice, conversely, allows merchants to set different prices for their online store and individual Point of Sale (POS) locations. This addresses the need for geographically-adjusted pricing strategies or promotions specific to brick-and-mortar locations.

Our Verdict
The choice between Quick Quote and VariPrice hinges entirely on the merchant's specific needs. If a merchant requires the ability to provide custom quotes and negotiate pricing with customers, Quick Quote is the clear choice. This is particularly relevant for businesses selling high-value items, custom products, or offering volume discounts. On the other hand, if a merchant operates both an online store and physical POS locations and needs the flexibility to set different prices for each, VariPrice is the more suitable solution. However, its incompatibility with Cart Transformer apps must be carefully considered before installation.
Common Questions
Which app is better for a merchant selling custom-made furniture?
Quick Quote would likely be the better choice. Custom furniture often requires tailored pricing, and Quick Quote facilitates this process through quote requests and personalized responses.
Can VariPrice be used to offer online-only discounts?
Yes, VariPrice allows setting different prices for the online store versus POS locations, so offering an online-only discount is a possible use case.
Is Quick Quote compatible with Shopify POS?
Based on the information provided, Quick Quote isn't directly integrated with Shopify POS. The workflow involves email and quote management within the app's admin panel, not direct POS integration.
If I only sell online, is VariPrice useful?
Potentially, VariPrice is less useful if you only sell online. It's primary benefit is setting different prices between the online store and POS locations. However, if you anticipate opening a POS location in the future, it could be a forward-thinking investment.
Does the significantly higher number of reviews for Quick Quote indicate a better app?
Not necessarily. The higher number of reviews for Quick Quote suggests it's been available longer or caters to a broader audience. VariPrice's lower number of reviews doesn't automatically imply inferiority, but requires considering its niche function and potential recency.
