r2decide ‑ AI‑Powered Search and Recomatic Related Products are both 5-star rated apps in the 'Search and Navigation' category on the Shopify App Store in 2026, but they address distinct aspects of product discovery and sales enhancement. r2decide focuses on improving the search experience itself, leveraging Gen AI to understand user intent and provide more accurate, personalized results. Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants struggling with poor search results or high bounce rates from search pages, r2decide ‑ AI‑Powered Search appears to be the more suitable option. Its Gen AI-powered search aims to directly address these issues by better understanding user intent and delivering relevant results. The 'try before you buy' option is also appealing for merchants hesitant about committing to a new app.
However, for merchants looking to increase average order value and improve product discovery after a customer has already landed on a product page or category, Recomatic Related Products is the stronger choice. Its focus on data-driven recommendations and customization options allows merchants to tailor the app to their specific needs and track its impact on sales. The significantly higher number of reviews also suggests a more established and widely used app.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to integrate with my store?
Both apps claim to be easy to integrate. r2decide highlights its simple integration, requiring no workflow changes. Recomatic integrates directly with your theme editor. For ease of integration, both are likely similar, but further information on specific integrations may be required.
Which app is better for a store with a small product catalog?
Recomatic Related Products is likely more beneficial for a small catalog. AI-powered search is more critical when customers are navigating a large number of products. A small catalog may see more gains by improving product discovery and cross-selling related items.
Does r2decide's AI learn from my store's data?
While the description mentions Gen AI, it doesn't explicitly state that it learns from your store's specific data. This would be a crucial question to ask the developer before committing to the app.
Can Recomatic handle complex product relationships?
Recomatic states it uses sales data and 'dozens of attributes' to determine related products. This suggests it can handle relatively complex relationships, but the extent of its capabilities would need to be further explored.
How can I measure the ROI of each app?
r2decide promotes improved conversion and revenue, allowing you to track search metrics. Recomatic provides detailed reporting and conversion data specifically for related product performance. Both allow for measurement, but Recomatic seems to offer more specific tracking related to its core function.
